What we do

Work Well Live Well is a regional workplace health support service funded by the Public Health Agency and established in 2016.

Developing Healthy Communities currently leads on the 2020-2025 contract for Western Trust Area and its Health@Work NI team works within three distinct levels of commitment from employers. These are part of a continuum in which employers and employees work within an ongoing continual improvement process for Workplace Health and Wellbeing (WHO 2010).

We deliver support to small, medium and large businesses; and target those with employees at risk of poor health and wellbeing, including low paid, sedentary, migrant and LGBTQ employees.

Derry Youth and Community Workshops

Hearing directly from those who have benefited from a program is an effective way to understand its impact. That's why we invite you to listen to the women from Derry Youth and Community Workshop share their personal experience with this program.

They can attest to how the program has positively impacted not only them personally, but also their workplace. We believe that their testimonial serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of investing in programs that make a real difference in people's lives. So, take a moment to hear from someone who has been there and see for yourself the value of this program.

Project Mission

Our Goals

We aim to empower workplaces to enhance employee health and wellbeing through tailored support, training, and community-building initiatives

Enhance workplace health and wellbeing

Provide tailored support to businesses of all sizes, with a focus on employees at higher risk of poor health, including those who are low-paid, sedentary, migrant, or LGBTQ, to foster healthier, more resilient workplaces.

Empower employers and employees through training and resources

Offer comprehensive assessments, health reports, and assistance in developing actionable workplace health and wellbeing plans. Train Workplace Health Champions to lead these initiatives and provide ongoing access to specialised training, including Mental Health First Aid.

Foster community and celebration in workplace health

Create opportunities for workplaces to engage in health promotion activities, attend networking events, and celebrate their achievements, building a strong network of workplace health advocates across the region.
